Introduction

St. Vitus Organ Evenings are arranged by the Metropolitan Chapter of St. Vitus in co-operation with the Prague Castle Administration. This international organ festival, which takes place in St. Vitus Cathedral, is now in its seventh year.

The project enjoys the patronage of its founder, Archbishop Dominik Cardinal Duka.

A prestigious cultural event coinciding with Prague's high tourist season, it affords a great opportunity to listen to organ music in this magical setting. The Molzer organ, containing 4,500 pipes, offers the listener a rich, romantic sound. Since the Cathedral is used only for liturgical and touristic purposes, this festival is a unique opportunity to hear the full capacity of this instrument.

The concerts will take place on four Tuesday evenings from 4th through 25th July, with interpretations by four renowned organists, foreign including . They will play pieces from many periods and styles, including world music premieres and works by contemporary composers.

This is a purely non-commercial activity. By offering tickets at low prices, we aim to be affordable for a wide public. You are cordially invited to attend the festival and with your presence to support similar concerts in the future.
